The pipeline infrastructure of PERN S.A. is directly connected to Naftoport located in Gdańsk. It is significant for ensuring energy security of the country. It is the route that domestic refineries can use in order to top up crude oil stocks in case of disruptions in the delivery of crude from the East. Naftoport also cooperates with PERN S.A. on crude oil transit across the territory of Poland.
The handling capacity of Naftoport amounts to 34 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products per year. The crude oil base in Gdańsk, owned by PERN S.A., constitutes technological and storage back-area for the manifolds of the seaside Terminal.
The basic advantages of Naftoport in comparison with other ports of the Baltic Sea are, first of all, great handling capacity, unique location of the port, and direct pipeline connections enabled by the Pomerania Pipeline. As a result of these strengths, the Polish petroleum infrastructure is used for transiting crude from the East.
